Rasam


Dish of the Day:




Ingredients :
                  Tomatoes-2, Toor dhal -1/4 cup,tamarind juice,salt,3 cloves of garlic,3 dried red chillies,1/4tbsp mustard seeds,1/4 tbsp jeera,2 tbsp chopped corriander leaves ,1tbsp peppercorns,1tbsp rasam powder and water
                      


Procedure: 
                   Cook toordhal in a pressure cooker,mash it  and keep aside. Now take a small grinding stone(rubbu rolu in telugu) first grind peppercorns, then peeled garlic cloves and add half of chopped corriander leaves to it and grind them.If you dont have a grinding stone you can do it with round spatula(pappu guthi in telugu).
                  


                      Place a thick bottomed vessel on stove and pour 1tbsp oil.When oil becomes hot add mustard seeds,jeera and dried red chillies to it.Now add grinded cloves mixture to it and fry it for 3mins. Add chopped tomatoes and fry them for some time. Now add mashed dhal to it and add tamarind juice. Mix the dhal and tamarind juice with hand( squeeze all the tomatoes and red chillies to enhance the flavour).Add salt,rasam powder and two cups of water and keep the flame medium high and boil it for 10 mins.Now garnish with some curry leaves and chopped corriander.
